My regular readers know that I like to pass on links and articles that were of interest to me.
Periodically I Google Sisterlocks to see what comes up. I found a link to this article which is actually over two years old, but I think it gives a fairly good description of what Sisterlocks are and how they're done (for the curious). It also gives a glimpse of the reasons some decide to get Sisterlocks.

Anako Nappy (now Johadeni Nappy) is actually the shop where I had my locks installed. They did a great job and the ladies there are really professional.
People often scoff at the SL installtion cost and length of time it takes. The funny thing is that they are usually the same women who will spend $120 for weave + however much their salon or braider charges for the weaving then sit around waiting in a salon all dayum day... all for a hairstyle that lasts a month max.
My Sisterlocks are all mine and I never have to pay another dime or waste a minute of my time waiting because a client has double (or triple) booked appointments. I am so glad that I was told about SLs and that there are so many women who have maintained great blogs, it made the decision to lock easier. Now I can't imagine wearing my hair any other way.
